Manitobans generally consider the populated part of their neighbouring province to be a little peninsula "down east". For them, a trip to Ontario most often means a jaunt to Lake of the Woods country.
From the urban Toronto perspective, however, everything north of Georgian Bay is "up north". Maybe even everything north of Hwy #401; little realization of the fact that the entire "rest of Canada" lies north of North Bay.
