Impressions of the "Good Old USA"

Mid Atlantic

New York

My wife and her sisters did the town when the eldest turned 60.

To counter that, the husbands once went to the “Anchor Bar” in Buffalo (home of the original “Buffalo wings”).

New Jersey

Pennsylvania

Amish country includes tiny towns with names like Intercourse, BlueBall, Virginville, Fertility, Climax...

Most memorable for us was Punxatawney, the home of "Punxatawney Phil", the mascot for Groundhog Day. The old boy was doing a photo shoot the day we visited, and while they were waiting for the celebrities to arrive via helicopter, we got a personal tour.

Oh yeah, Hershey World is there too. Some people like Wilbur, Penn chocolates even better, because the smaller factory is original and authentic.

Delaware

Should Delaware even be a state? And where the heck is it anyway? Northeast? Southeast? Eastern Seaboard? One of the thirteen colonies? New England? Not one of the confederate states. (It’s one I always miss when trying name the fifty states. )

Maryland

District of Columbia (Washington D.C.)

The capital region of Washington D.C. is not part of any "state"; being its own entity.

Haven't been there yet, but looking forward to getting pictures of the White House, Capital Bldg, images along the "mall" when the apple blossoms appear in the spring, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorical, maybe visiting the Smithsonian.....
